The Overland Trail Ranch encompasses about 500 square miles of rugged and diverse terrain roughly between Rawlins and Saratoga in Carbon County, Wyoming. While the ranch consists of a mix of land ownerships including private, federal and state parcels, cooperative agreements, grazing leases and an allotment management plan assure that the property is wisely managed as one integrated, year-round operation.
In addition to ranching and agriculture, scientific data shows the ranch has some of the best wind resources in the nation. TOTCO is supporting Power Company of Wyoming LLC in its efforts to develop a major wind power project on about one-third of the overall ranch property. Wind turbines will produce approximately 3,000 megawatts of clean, renewable electricity while allowing ranching and grazing operations and wildlife use and migration to freely continue. As demonstrated by its responsible stewardship of land, water and wildlife resources in the past, TOTCO is committed to ongoing environmental conservation for the future.
